Register Here for our Geology Event - November 7th 2026- 9 am to 4pm
Limited to 20 attendees. Preregistration is required by November 4th.

Want to know more about Connecticut’s diverse rocks and minerals and collect some yourself?
Then why not attend a “dig” on Clark Hill in the Meshomasic State Forest of East Hampton.

EHLT has secured a DEEP permit for educational mineral collecting at two old feldspar quarries. Geologist, rockhound and EHLT member Harold Moritz has dug there many times and will be your guide to the variety of minerals that can be found there and what to look for. The trip involves a short, easy hike in but you might be heavier on the way out!

Registration and being a current, paid member of EHLT is required. If you are not yet a 2026 member, please be sure to become a member here prior to the hike.

Meeting time and place, permit requirements, and what to bring will be forwarded to members who register.

Detailed information on the quarries can be found here: https://www.mindat.org/loc-29586.html
