William Jezek Memorial Preserve

The William Jezek Memorial Preserve consists of 18.5 acres along the shoreline of the Moodus Reservoir. The preserve has frontage on Daniel Peck and Beebe Roads, and a long stretch reaches to the reservoir. The land hosts a moderate-aged oak/beech/red maple forest with several wetlands, a small brook flowing into the reservoir, stone walls, and steep slopes. A trail accessed on Daniel Peck Road descends through the preserve to Beebe Road.  A branch trail system rambles through several wetlands and provides access to the upper Moodus Reservoir.

Hiking is the only activity permitted on this fragile wetland wildlife habitat. Please stay on trails to minimize impact and ensure the privacy of the neighboring landowners.

This preserve is part of the Lyme Forest Block Important Bird Area. See Six EHLT Preserves in Newly-Designated Important Bird Area.
